Tuition fees

The Italian Constitution guarantees the right to study, a right that successive governments have interpreted as implying low student fees. As a result, Italy's student tuition fees are among the most competitive in Europe, and they apply to Italians and non-Italians alike.

Tuition fees range according to family income. In 2016-17 the annual fee in Pavia ranged from € 498.27 to € 3,796.00. All enrolling students pay an initial deposit of 680.00 € (those in the lowest fee bracket are partially reimbursed at a later date). Students from developing countries (with study residence permits) qualify automatically for the lowest fee bracket.

To help prospective students estimate their expected tuition fees, the university has provided information, together with an online calculator, at this page (Please select "Faculty - BIOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY" at the menu "Select your Course"). The reported tuition fees are for the academic year 2016-2017.
